My sister Lindsay

"Lindsay McCall Day"

August 9,1948--August 19,1997

This is in memory of my sister whom I loved very much. She was only 49 years of age. Born in Sharon, CT., we (Tamara, Melissa, Lindsay, Olivia, Samuel & Michele and parents Corenne and Sam Maxwell) lived in Millerton NY. It was just across the line from CT. and that was the closest hospital! She had the usual growing as did the rest of us. Even tried to do the nurses thing but found it was not for her. In 1968 she moved to San Francisco and loved it there. In 1972 I (Tammy) came out to visit her on vacation. It was then I knew why she went there. I fell in love with the "city" too, so I moved back here in June of 1973 and lived with her then till I got on my feet. She met someone on the day I flew in to town and they soon were married. As time went on it was not ment to be--so they went their seperate ways. After a few years in the financal district in insurance she left it all behind. Went back to school and took courses on child rearing. She had already become a full time baby-sitter. This led to being a full time Nanny, and she loved it. Last December she had some problems with her health and went to the doctor for a check-up. They found cervical cancer--and it had progressed quite a ways. Well---she went through the radiation and implants like a trooper. I have no idea how she did it all. Built of iron I think. At the time of her check up they found "NO" tumor. "Everyone" was so happy. Then about two months later she started to get yellow--and back to the doctors--It had seeped into her liver, which is why no one saw it in xrays. They gave her six months to live, but she lasted only a month and a half. That was wonderful for her-- she didn't suffer as long-- Her sisters Melissa and Olivia got here in time to see her-- And she did reconize them. My Aunt Mary also came-- my Dads sister. It was really nice to be together. She is now at peace with the world .

And she would want all you "WOMEN" out there to "GET" your yearly check-ups. Its really important!!!!

Remember me with smiles and laughter
for that is how I will remember you all.
If you can only remember me with tears,
then don't remember me at all.
